"Carmel Valley Lodge was amazing! There are so many positive things to comment on! The outdoor life size games like Chess, Connect 4, Jenga were super cool! The pool area was beautiful and quiet - I loved the loungers, the hot tub, the fire pit. My room also had a partially closed off front porch which I enjoyed sitting out there drinking coffee, listening to the birds. There aren't enough words to describe the greatness of the staff - from the greeting when I entered to the small talk about tv...

"Room carpets are very dirty (at least for our cabin). Couldn't even think of walking bare foot in room! Restaurant has limited options, food overall is poor quality. English Muffins in my breakfast smelled bad of stale food."

"While we have always cherished our stays at Bernardus, this visit was somewhat disappointing. The front desk staff appeared distracted by their own conversations, which detracted from the usual warm welcome we’ve come to appreciate. Typically, a complimentary beverage is offered upon check-in, but this time we missed out on that special touch. We hope to see the attentive service that makes Bernardus truly exceptional. "Well the signs for the entrance was confusing and not properly laid out. The gate for where we stayed needs to be fixed but still closed and lastly I don’t mind being naked at all using the tub in front of the room’s outdoor patio at the entrance of the room; other guests who are shy probably won’t use it?"

"The property was well maintained. The view from our room was amazing. We really enjoyed our two-day stay. The only downside was parking. The nearest parking lot to our room was a decent walk up a steep hill. If you have mobility issues, please check on the parking arrangements for your specific room you book."

"We really loved our stay with one exception. A woodpecker would wake us up daily between 6am-6:30am pecking loudly on the outside of our suite (#58). We asked if anything could be done but there wasn’t and it was a common occurrence. We would love to go back if we can be sure we could sleep in."
