"We arrived at the hotel at approximately 2 PM and we were told that our room was ready for us. However, if we were to check in early, it would be an additional $20 plus tax. "The guy who checked me in was very friendly and had recommendations on where to eat. Unfortunately that was the only positive thing. I should have read the amenities where it said there was no A/C only fans. The window fan worked but not the in room fan. The ice bucket had some sort of blue goop (dried toothpaste?) on it. The faucet only ran warm and hot water. No cold. No wash clothes in the room and the linens and towels were cheap. Very old hotel that definitely needs to be upgraded."

"We had a wonderful stay at Black Bear Lodge. The property was very clean, the area was quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The gentleman at check-in was very friendly and welcoming. "We stayed in the motor lodge kitchen suites. It was updated. We thought there was a sofa bed. The sofa did not make out into a bed. So, if you need another sleep space you would need a rollaway.
The motor lodge is a bit of a walk to the main hotel where pool, spa, check in, restaurants are located. Motor lodge is also right next to the trailer park."

I honestly think some reviews are a little too picky. 😅 For a budget hotel, I had a really great stay!
First, a big thank you to Isabella at the front desk. She was so kind and welcoming, and check-in went smoothly.
A few things to know before booking: there is no elevator, only stairs, so if you're traveling solo, maybe don't bring your entire closet with you. Your suitcase will appreciate it. 😂

"Only thing good about this place was the location and the staff. The hotel room itself was dirty, had holes in the walls, stains on the bedsheets, and the microwave didn't work. The bathroom was extremely outdated, the window didn't have a screen so flies and bugs could get in. Our room was never replenished with more towels or more toilet paper. I will never stay at "Quality" Inn again. The people at the front counter were very nice and professional though."
