This was my third visit over the past ten years. I've always had a warm feeling about the area and stopping somewhere with such history. On the first two visits, when they promised breakfast included, the options where great. I must admit the last visit may have been over five years ago and even though there is a claim that breakfast is included, in fact that is no longer the case. While i like the venue, can you please update hotel.com that breakfast is not included as part of your bed and breakfast.

Quirky, creaky and uniquey! Loved our stay

Had a wonderful stay here. The four person family room was perfect, loved the character and all the old features. Staff were all fab. The location is ideal for walking into town. Would 100% stay here again. Thanks for a wonderful weekend :)

A great place to stay and the staff really care

Loved staying here. The guy who showed me round couldn't have been any kinder or more interested in telling me about the room. A full guided tour. The room I stayed in was a really great size, bathroom was great and the bed was comfy. The location was fantastic also. Only 2 points I'd like A hairdryer in the room A better fan (but to be fair there was a fan and at the moment it's like 100 degrees) These are the only 2 things I'd change but it doesn't impact my review because of the great location, staff and quality of the place. Will be staying here again when I come to Birmingham

Pumping music and a cheap nights stay!

No parking as advertised when I booked a year ago. It's basically a night club in the garden, so just be aware it wasn't a quiet stay. The communal bathrooms were very clean and a great shower. Nice pub downstairs. All in All good value for the night

Charming hotel, horrible bed.

Loved the building itself, has tons of charm. We went to a concert at O2 Institute and the location was perfect for that. Bathroom was nice, rooms okay considering the age of the building, but the bed was horrible. They had put a couple of extra pillows under my matress to build it up a little, but really, the bed was still horrible.

This is a very old pub, persevered very well and in keeping with it's original historic 656 year old design. Great food and drink selection and wonderful staff. With that in mind, it is a pub, and therefore very noisy until around 12am later at weekends. As it's old it's also very creaky, so expect to here residents walking to and from the bathroom / toilets. The rooms are what you'd expect in keeping with an old building and a little cold in winter. The bathrooms are separate and shared with plenty of hot water, but the mattresses are awful, I ended up sleeping on the floor. The Old Crown is about 25 mins walk from the town centre with a 1 in 4 hill climb. Sadly though the surrounding area is run down, with graffiti and building rubble everywhere. Overall I really enjoyed the place, but it's location lets it down.

Lovely big room in a very historic building. Super comfy beds and very clean. Evening meal was very tasty and reasonably priced. No breakfast option. Staff very friendly and helpful.
