"A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended.
The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room. "We were given a free upgrade to a river view room, which was an expected delight as we could sit on the bed and gaze at York Minster! The room was warm (it was snowing outside), well-appointed and clean. On guest safety, the hotel scored big points as the lift was only operational by using the room keycard and fire escape route was clearly marked on the reverse. I could relax and enjoy my stay. "
