"Staff at breakfast all seemed subdued and only very few interacted with guests. The choice of breakfast was minimal. In comparison with other hotels it was just about acceptable. Some of the seats were uncomfortable due to ware and tear. Ended up sitting on the frame rather than the leather clad seat cushion. "The hotel is just that little bit out of the way, although compared to other places, the location is good. The room was immaculate although I found the bed a bit less comfortable than my own. Staff were very good all round. Getting a buffet breakfast in the rate was a bonus, and it was okay to good, depending. There was no mention of paying £13.50 per night for the carpark until such time as they asked me for a bundle of money because I was parked there. This should be more upfront. We...

"From check in to check out, our 3 night weekend stay at the Ruskin was perfect. All staff were really friendly and very helpful. All food and drink provided, breakfast and bar snacks were delicious with great choices and again served "with friendly and genuine smiles". The standard twin room was perfectly adequate, with all you need and comfortable mattresses for great sleeps too. Efficient lifts to our second floor room. Will hopefully be returning, maybe even later this year. Highly recommend...

"Our room was clean, bed spotless and very comfy, the furniture could be updated, the bathroom especially shower cubicle needs revamped, the kettle in room really needs to be descaled, the restaurant was good, breakfast was lovely, dinner was ok, but waiters need to serve food on trays as fingers were on food when serving side plates of vegetables, not good, although staff were friendly, we enjoyed our stay,"

"This is an independent hotel and not a chain which enables it to look different from everybody else. The check in was quick and was able to go to room early. The parking easy plenty of spaces. Breakfast was very nice and everything was topped up regularly so you never ran out or had to wait. Probably I would say the toast area and fruit juice and hot drinks all squashed together.
