Lovely place
It was about 20km from Blonduos by the lake but the road was fine. Really nice place with kitchen facilities. Spacious room.

Enjoyable stay out of town
Out of town, but the restaraunt is great for a meal & the breakfast quite satisfying. You can walk around the cemetery & there is a little cute church there as well.

This place was a perfect place to stay "off the beaten path" along our road trip. Beautiful views of the water! The breakfast was good and convenient, as it is about a 15-20 min drive to any restaurants/markets. Nearest town (Blonduos) has a great restaurant in town (Teni's) that serves Ethiopian food!

Nice place but very basic. She checked us in early which was really appreciated as we were in a snowstorm. The place has all the necessities but no breakfast or dinner you need to drive to Blondus for those. That’s about 25 minutes drive.

Quaint Home Stay
This property is worth the money for what you get. Room was cozy and clean and the water pressure in the bathroom was great. The location was perfect for where we needed to get and the view was stunning.

What a lovely guesthouse! Right on the lake, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and decent bathrooms, a kitchen for cooking or warming food, comfy sofas in the lounge area and a great breakfast. The owner was very friendly on check in and at breakfast. 5 out of 5!

This is a family-run guesthouse, situated on their farm that is on a lovely lake. The guesthouse was clean and safe, albeit a bit spartan. Nonetheless, it had everything we needed. There is a shared kitchen for the guests to use and we made our own dinner, as there are no restaurants we found close by. Breakfast is provided. While a bit off the beaten path, the location was lovely and a great place for hikers and those exploring off the main highway. The check in/out process was very easy and the young lady who greeted us was very kind and helpful.

One night stay
Despite being closed, the guesthouse still honoured a reservation made very early this year. Their flexibility and the service was wonderful and we appreciated being able to spend the night. An absolutely spectacular location overlooking the lake, the guest rooms and common area are very spacious and comfortable.

This place was a good value for the money - so really not any complaints. It meets low budget expectations. Check-in was easy. The location was beautiful. The GPS did not know where this place was so we had to stop at a gas station and ask - luckily the attendant knew exactly how to direct us.

A quiet vacation place with limited service
This hotel is really remote. MyIt needs 20-30 min drive to a near by town for eating. Unfortunately, there is no breakfast or restaurant. I booked this guest house in order to see Northern Lights, and we did. We just needed to walk away 100m from the hotel and there is no lights around us! The staff is very friendly and welcoming, but she will be leaving after the summer. As it is a guest house, don't compare it with a hotel. The scenery is very good - lake, mountains, pastures, sheep, etc. Good quiet place to spend a night.

Very nice!
Very nice and comfortable stay. The host was nice and informative. Rooms were clean. I think there's about 8 rooms, and we got the double bed with ensuite. Spacious rooms, good sized kitchen and nice common area.

Nice place, clean, comfortable, good value. Had a well equipped kitchen, friendly owners. Only negative was it was noisy, could hear all the conversations and activities going on around you. Good chance to see Northern lights since it is away from the town.

Very enjoyable.
Everything was clean and comfortable. Room was large. It is a guesthouse so all guests share the bathroom. It is about six miles off the main route. Beautiful lake and view behind guesthouse. Very serene. Only thing I could r commend improving may be signs on bathroom doors to indicate if vacant or not.

Great location in Northern Iceland near Blonduos!
The guesthouse was amazing and we loved staying there! We had been camping for days and it was such a treat! The view was perfect and we highly recommend staying here! The location is breathtaking looking over Lake Svínavatn!!!

Lo mejor de todo son las vistas al lago. Echo de menos una mejor iluminación tanto en la cocina como en el baño y una lámpara más en la mesilla. También estaría bien que pusieran una alfombrilla para salir de la ducha. La mini cocina no tiene puerta y se oyen todos los ruidos.

Casa sul lago meravigliosa. Abbiamo Dormito nella dependance carinissima e super attrezzata con salotto e cucina bellissima e attrezzata. Siamo stati accolti da una ragazzina gentilissima e carina. Ci sarei rimasta diversi giorni se il Nostro viaggio non avesse previsto diverse tappe. Consigliatissimo.

Ein süßes kleines Gästehaus am Svinavatn - quasi mitten im Nirgendwo - perfekt zum Nordlichter beobachten! ♥ Wir hatten uns in das Nebenhaus eingebucht, um ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad zu haben und hatten zunächst auch das komplette Haus für uns alleine! "Leider" kamen dann spontan noch zwei andere Paare, aber trotzdem konnten wir problemlos im Aufenthaltsraum noch Bundesliga (! :D) schauen, bis wir nochmal für die Nordlichter vor die Tür gegangen sind. Das Haus an sich ist ein umgebauter Schweinestall, glaube ich, und erinnert etwas an eine Jugendherberge - großer Speisesaal mit kleinen Tischen, eine kleine Wohnzimmerecke und eine große Küche mit insgesamt drei Kühlschränken (sinnvollerweise in der Nebensaison nur einer in Betrieb) und allem, was man sonst zum Kochen braucht. Wäre also auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt super geeignet! Das Zimmer selbst war klein aber fein und schön sauber; ebenso das Bad. Betten sehr bequem. Leider waren die Handtücher etwas hart, hier würde vielleicht etwas Weichspüler oder ein Trockner nicht schaden ;) Alles in allem würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten! Von der Ringstraße aus muss man zwar über eine Schotterstraße zum Gästehaus fahren, aber auch im Winter (März) ging das super und hat noch viele schöne Ausblicke beschert, die man von der Ringstraße aus nicht hat! :)
