"We had a lovely stay at The Royal Oak. Our room was gorgeous the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed and more. I couldn’t recommend this place enough it had a lovely feel and the staff were friendly and welcoming. "
"Fantastic hotel, lovely staff, delicious food and central location to all the hotspots with a bus stop across the road with a regular bus service to and from all the hotspots. Room for 1 was clean and beautifully decorated but very small which meant that on warm sunny nights the heat builds up making it uncomfortable to get ready and sleep in, easy fix, needs Air Con or a decent fan as the ones in the room were inadequate, however would this stop me returning, absolutely not as everything else...

"Hotel as described. 10 minutes walk into Grasmere. Free parking, although I doubt enough if hotel at capacity. Bus stop outside. Breakfast was nice & plenty of options. We had dinner one evening and it was good & good value.

We decline one days room clean in exchange for a couple of free drinks, that was a nice idea and encoraged reuse of towels etc
