I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was. The cottage was perfect, the store was full of delicious food. The animals on the property were wonderful and the property owners were the best of hosts, being generous, kind and simultaneously real (not at all a forced smile with fake hospitality). We are looking forward to coming back again!

Go for the food!

We were in the suite, not the cottage. The breakfast was amazing but the room was very noisy (through the walls) and bed was loud & uncomfortable for us.

Wonderful place to stay! Next time, we would plan to stay much longer. I think staying about 4-5 days or so would have given us a chance to get to know the island better and just have a nice, relaxing time! Our host, Jules, was amazing. So friendly and flexible with check-in and our cottage was lovely.

We had a great time at this bed and breakfast. The cottage was cozy and clean. Best of all, envy of our friends staying at other places on the island, the food basket that was prepared for us! Thanks for the great stay!

Peaceful pretty cottage, back to nature.

Perfect escape from city life. Relax on the deck enjoy the sunset and the wildlife surrounding you. Good base to explore this charming island. Wonderful walks and beautiful views. Farm shop on your doorstop for delicious meals and local foods.

Great getaway

If you want to get away from the main drag and don't mind barnyard sounds in the morning (which we didn't mind), this place is for you. It's a great getaway, the breakfast was perfect and our hostess was very pleasant. The grounds are beautiful and nice to walk around. I would definitely recommend this place.

Bowen Island Getaway

The Garden Suite was beautiful and well maintained. Complimentary breakfast was delicious, which we enjoyed having on the patio. The service was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely come back again.

Wonderful cozy cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alderwood. Jules was welcoming and provided tons of great tips for things to see and do on Bowen. The cottage was perfect - cozy and well appointed. Comfortable furnishings and super quiet. We loved seeing the emu and chickens too! The breakfast basket was perfect for us to have breakfast when we wanted on our own schedule. We hope to return again for another stay!

Wonderful farm experience!

Amazing breakfast and food! Really relaxing, the hostess is super nice and pretty. The animals on the farm are so friendly haha! Would like to come back someday :)

We'll be back!

The website doesn't do it justice - the ensuite was cozy, clean and very comfortable, and it opened onto a sunny courtyard where we were greeted by a rooster and hen. There were donkies, emus, chickens, geese, ducks, dogs...and several unique buildings...all available to walk around and view. The couple who own this place are so friendly and welcoming...they provided a delicious breakfast of coffee, tea, fresh croissants, danish, cheese, grapes, strawberries and candied almonds and also have a little deli/store with the perfect fixings for our own charcouterie board. There is even a chapel and reception area on the grounds for weddings...a beautiful hidden gem tucked away on Bowen Island.

The accommodations were great - unfortunately Expedia advertised the wrong rates and also advertised free wifi at the accommodation (which technically was incorrect - the wifi was at the farmhouse, not the cottage where we stayed) No fault of the owners, who were great. Lovely accommodations and location.

Comfortable Peaceful Stay

We went for a quiet girls weekend and we had a really great stay at Alderwood. The property is beautiful, surrounded by nature and the cottages are clean and up kept and very cozy. Jules was extremely friendly and helpful to us as well. She made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was delicious! We would definitely stay again without hesitations and would recommend Alderwood for anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful getaway.

A wonderful home away from home.

We came to Bowen Island for a weekend get-away and were impressed by the hospitality of our hostess/host, Jules and Doug. We knew right away that we had chosen the perfect place to stay. On the way to our room, we received a royal welcome by Jackson, the resident black lab who became an adorable companion - especially when breakfast was served. We will definitely come back again.

Comfy and close to nature

Cottage was perfect for 2! Cozy but enough room to stay out of each other's way if needed. Adorable animals right outside the front door. Emu's and Donkeys in pens and 2 wild deer who would wander through the area! Our dog loved it too!

Very nice place indeed, its really on farmland!

Breakfast was good, the room was pretty basic. No tv or radio or bathroom door. Outside there were chicken,emus, and donkeys everywhere. I would recommend this quaint little place for a single person or for a honeymoon couple. It is located 3.5 miles away from Snug Cove, which is where the Ferry Terminal is located.

Beautiful spot

If you are an animal lover then you will definitely love Alderwood Farm. After climbing the winding driveway to the farm you are greeted by Jackson and Prince, 2 of the sweetest Labrador retrievers. There is a resident deer on the 5 acre property as well as 2 donkeys, 3 emus and a rooster named Handsome (because he is) and his 2 lady friends. Jules, the owner is a very sweet lady. She left tea and sweets for us at night and the breakfast of bagels, cream cheese, cheese, fruit, tea and coffee was perfect. You can't go wrong for a stay at Alderwood Farm.

A magical experience

We received a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and were quickly getting settled in to the delightful 'Cozy Cottage'. One could not wish for a more peaceful and relaxing location with great facilities. I was still jet lagged from the flight a couple of days earlier, so found myself up and about at 2:30am gazing at the night sky, made all the more beautiful by the lack of light pollution on Bowen Island.

Extremely quiet but located close to a minimart.

Very rustic and rural but inviting and comfortable. No door separating from bathroom to bedroom so be comfortable with your partner. Overall a romantic evening, there is wifi but no tv.
