The Belsfield Hotel

"The hotel is in a great position and we had a wonderful room overlooking Lake Windermere it was therefore handy for the facilities of Bowness, ALL the staff were friendly and very helpful, with a special mention to Phil and Ali, our only criticism is that the bar does not have enough variety of draught beers/lagers. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel."
Storrs Gate House

"We can't recommend Storrs Gate House enough, such a good break away here. Susann and Glenn are amazing hosts, such friendly, lovely people. Breakfasts were incredible and definitely set you up for the day, we are missing those breakfasts! The house is so beautiful, our room was perfect, plenty of space and beautifully decorated. Our celebratory time away was made all the more special staying at Storrs Gate, we would definitely like to stay here again, thank you for such a lovely stay."
Bowness Guest House

"A perfect stay in the dog friendly room. Parking space was a bonus and the room was presented really well with everything we could want/need. We were able to check in a little earlier due to our room being ready and this was communicated to us promptly. Really well located for all local amenities and would definitely stay again"
The Ro Hotel

"This is a fine old achool hotel, with large clean rooms, and a friendly staff. The reception rooms and bar are nice, but while we were, were totally overrun by a wedding party. The restaurant is okay. It is adjacent tobthe reception and the dinner is acceptable, but certainly not remarkable. Everything was a little overdone. The worst was the wedding, that had a performer signing full blast in the bar, and which was so loud the waiter could barely take our dinner order. It was extremely intrusive for all the other guests. The breakfast here is also very good. Suggest going to an outside restaurant if the hotel is booked out for a private event."
Elim House

"The room was clean and spacious with a four poster bed which was quite comfortable. A small tv that was not smart so no apps. Sash windows overlooking the property entrance which was quite floral. The blinds cut out a great deal of light, so they are good if you don’t want early morning light. The shower/WC room was good although the fan is rather loud(especially if you wake in the night). There is a small light over the sinks mirror but searching in the dark is not great. A wooden wardrobe with plenty of hangers. A fan for warmer nights. Location was out of the town but not too far to walk(up or downhill), so nicely peaceful. Parking on the road is a little hit and miss, I believe there are parking spots but I mistakenly parked at Elim gardens and not Elim house, of which I had a reminder on my windscreen. Mark the host was very nice. All in all a good place to stay for a long weekend."

"What a wonderful stay we had - hidden gem literally couple of mins walk to Bowness lakes/shops/restaurants/pubs - beautiful gardens, staff so friendly and helpful, rooms full of character and had everything we needed for our stay - the breakfast was amazing - cereal, every kind of fruit and great choice of cooked breakfast too - plus private onsite parking - we'll definitely be visiting again"

"Just got back from an amazing weekend at the Ryebeck, what a fantastic welcoming hotel. Very clean and welcoming. The hotel is ran by Craig and his brother, whom are so welcoming, and have a real nothing is too much trouble attitude. They are so funny, and create a really good welcoming atmosphere. Special shout out to Liam the Barman, who is such a genuine great guy. And adopts the same, nothing is too much trouble attitude Contrary to what Craig constanly stated they really can get the staff I will certainly be back!"
