"We stayed for 1 night at the hotel, in a lovely room at the back, overlooking the river. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the hotel is well maintained. As an electric car driver, the ability to charge the car overnight was a huge plus. Breakfast was good, fried egg, sausage, bacon etc, plus pastries and cereal available. Just two minor quibbles with the room: the air conditioning unit showed the set temperature illuminated with a very bright white light, which stopped the room from being...

"I stayed in one of the ‘chalet’ type rooms overlooking the car park at the back of the hotel. The woman on reception, when checking in, wasn’t particularly friendly- no warm welcome! The room really needs updating/decorating. A half eaten pear was on the decking outside, the Roman blind in the room was half hanging off and the room was quite dark so I couldn’t even let in more light, some cob webs in the bathroom and no welcome/info folder in the room which you normally would have with details...

"Never really write reviews but maybe that goes some way to show how impressed I was. Staff feel as though they care about the place and in a world where customer service in hospitality is struggling it was so refreshing. Will definitely be back next time I have to stay in the area. "OK room - no air con but understandable give the age of the building. Bed was OK, but traffic noise is noticeable, especially with the window open (remember there is no air con), so not the best nights' sleep. Staff were fantastic though, especially the breakfast server and the breakfast itself was great."

"The hotel is very well run and the hosts are very helpful. The rooms are a decent size. Although it took a while for the water to warm up in the shower. I acknowledge that this is beyond the owner’s control, but my second floor room overlooked a junction and the traffic was noisy . At about 4am a lorry collected the empty glass bottles. The noise of the crash as the glass shattered was shocking. Avoid a roadside room on a Wednesday morning….if you want undisturbed sleep."
