"Bed was comfortable and breakfast very nice. Negatives - no air con on a very hot day/night and shower problematic. Couldn’t avoid getting hair wet, shower head too high to adjust and no soap in dispenser. Otherwise all good."

"Clean hotel with large room, which even had a small balcony. Staff were friendly and informative on check in but checking out was less friendly and more of a process. Tea and coffee available in room with biscuits, a Nespresso or similar would have been a better option as now offered at most hotels. Good size desk for working on, with plenty of sockets in the room but no USB points, wifi had very good signal and easy to connect to, small table and chairs in the room as well as place to store...

"Visited on Monday 15 June. No staff to check in, just a door bell to security they then let you in to get your key from a key safe inside. No dinner or bar on Monday nights so went to the pub over the road. Double Room petite and bijou but adequate. Left before breakfast so did not speak to any staff during our stay!!!! On our previous visit we did have a very nice breakfast. Recommend it but don’t expect to be pampered, more like an Air B&B at least on a Monday or Tuesday."

"The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful."

"This was one of the prettiest places we've ever stayed in. Breakfast was delicious and personalised, wonderfully renovated pub and hotel rooms. Staff were really friendly and great pub to enjoy a drink or eat in. Comfortable, quiet and extremely relaxing with added bonus of bath and sash windows which opened to look out at the front of the property. PERFECT!!"

"Breakfast is very good - buy it at reception it is cheaper. The choice and freshness is excellent. Probably the only budget chain that offers guacamole! The sausages and bacon are better quality than a Premier Inn If arriving late at night, the walk from the car park is pretty horrible. (Albeit, the parking is cheap) The hotel is really convenient for the Railway Station"

"An old coaching inn with a history of highwaymen this was a good stay for us for two nights. We had a family room with two bedrooms and shared bathroom, each with its own double bed and television. The bathroom had a nice walk-in shower. The Hotel also provided fans in the room as there was no air-conditioning. Breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold. "Hotel was absolutely lovely, however the service in the restaurant was very slow and staff were just hanging about chatting and ignored us for quite a while to bring menus, take the order, clean plates etc. They automatically add on the service to the bill. We had 2 cookies and 2 soft drinks on arrival £17! An excessive mark up!"
