"We were initially surprised at the size of the hotel and rather disappointed how far away our room was from reception and the lifts: However,chat changed as soon as we got to our room which was more like a suite! Exceptionally comfy bed as well. Once we found the shortcut stairways back to the pool area, all was fine. Very glad the hotel wasn't full otherwise the pretty good breakfast might have been more of a struggle. Definitely recommend popping over the road to the Mercado and have a lunch...

"Wanted to love it but was disappointed with this hotel. We arrived during a hot period and there was no AC in the hallways. Once we got to the room, it was extremely hot. Only one room key was provided, and after being out all day, we returned to a hot and humid room- when you remove the key, the ac turns off. Very bad design. The hallways are also extremely narrow and like a maze. Elevator is new. Room is badly designed and there is some mould in the shower. Water pressure is good but...

"Nice, basic hotel. Staff arranged for a morning taxi for us to get to the airport (no free shuttle available) and for a packed breakfast to go. Breakfast was unremarkable (white bread ham & cheese sandwich, two cakes, a very soft and bruised apple and a sugary juice type drink) but the effort was appreciated."

"The property was original with renovated palace rooms and a very modern block for accommodation: it mixes well together. The staff are extremely attentive and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The hotel was well positioned in the centre of the village."

"Clean and spacious room and nice to have a kitchenette. Some essentials were missing but it was overall great and functional. Quiet and peaceful. View from the roof was great and the terrace as well. Nice to have access to the coffee machine as well. Convenient location in Faro but a little far from groceries. Would visit again."

Good range of dishes and generally fast service, although restaurant is closed Sunday evening and Monday all day you will need to look elsewhere for lunch and dinner. Main drawback is the location of hotel in relation to Tavira and if you don't have a car. A good 20-25 minute walk to the town centre...
