"The communal kitchen was wonderful. The bathroom was problematic. The sink was nearly impossible to use - tiny and there was a shelf just above the sink that impeded access to the sink. So there was a lot of splashing water!"

"After more than 20 years of booking through Hotels.com, this experience may finally end that relationship. This hotel was advertised and priced as a four-star property, but in reality it felt much closer to a two-star hotel. Before our arrival, we attempted several times to contact the hotel with questions and requests. Unfortunately, neither the hotel nor Hotels.com responded. The property itself is extremely tired and in need of major renovation. Carpets were torn and worn, the shower door hardware was literally falling apart, and the mattress felt decades old. After only a few nights, all three of us were experiencing back discomfort. No soap in the bathroom sink or shower. Towels not changed . Room is so small. Breakfast was equally disappointing. The food quality was so poor that we chose to eat elsewhere the following morning. The eggs were rubbery plastic instant eggs I want to be fair and note that the staff members we encountered were pleasant and courteous. The employees are not the problem. The issue is that the hotel is being marketed and priced at a level that its condition simply does not justify. Hotels.com should either reclassify this property to reflect its actual condition or require significant improvements before continuing to market it as a four-star hotel. This was a genuinely disappointing experience and far below the standard I have come to expect from Hotels.com."

"The staff were very pleasant. Unfortunately, the room was very warm and there was no fan available to help with air flow. The worst part was the noise from the level above our room. Someone was walking or pacing the entire night and the sound was very loud and distracting. I’m not sure if it was another hotel patron or staff, but it was very difficult to sleep. Luckily, we only stayed one night."

"The main door into the apartments was broken, so it couldn’t be locked. This meant that anyone could come into the foyer and stairwell from off the street. This made us feel uncomfortable! The carpet in the foyer and stairwells was filthy, stained and in one part like a dog had scratched to threadbare. The internal walls were not sound proof so you could hear conversations along with other activities from the room next door. One of our party of 5 had a room that was musty from a rock wall outside her room that was constantly wet. We opted not to send any more time than was necessary in the rooms All in all you get what you pay for I guess! And it did put Inverness in a negative light for us which was a shame!"

"Room was clean and staff was helpful in getting a taxi to the airport booked for me. It was more of a transit hotel than I had realized. It is connected to a train station and across the street from the busses. I also wish the door had an additional latch or deadbolt, as a female solo traveler I was uncomfortable not having that."
