"Wonderful one-night stay at Ashbourne House. The room was very spacious, well decorated and absolutely spotless. Great attention to detail - there was even a supply of cotton buds and a small sewing kit! Really conveniently located to get to York centre, and the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in! "A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended. The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room. "This was a lovely heritage property located about a 15 minute walk to the centre of York. Staff were very welcoming and the room was spotless and comfortable. (If stairs are an issue for you, there can be many depending on your room floor - just two into the house) Breakfast was delicious and we also enjoyed the communal sitting room and the private parking. Overall, a lovely stay with great value. "

"A Christmas Eve stay was fantastic! Staff lovely, friendly and helpful and we woke up to Christmas stockings on our doors with hot chocolate marshmallows etc inside which was a fantastic festive touch."

"Check in was a very pleasant experience. We took advantage of the luggage check and on return to the hotel for check in our bags had been delivered to our room. We were even showed to our room, a nice touch. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. A million dollar view from our room across a quiet street. Would definitely stay again."
