"If you're not picky and ok with staying in an older establishment, this is a great hotel. From the outside of my building, it looked really old and dated. Same thing when walking to my room. Once inside the room, it was spotless, and large. The shower had hot water almost immediately and the room had a large TV and a fridge. The staff was VERY polite and courteous."

"I would not stay at this hotel again and cannot recommend it to others. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, with very limited options available. To make matters worse, the coffee machine was broken during my stay. The hotel staff also started clearing away the breakfast items before the official breakfast end time, which was frustrating and unprofessional. The rooms have old carpet flooring that appears worn and dusty. If you suffer from dust allergies, I strongly advise against staying...

"The location and friendliness of the staff made our stay here wonderful! We were just five minutes from downtown and the pier, making it easy to visit both locations in the same day. The front desk staff, i don’t recall his name, was very helpful and accommodating during our stay, he helped us stay in our same room when we decided to extend our stay so we didn’t have to check out and back in. He also provided us with some great recommendations to restaurants and places to visit in Santa Cruz."

"The location was great; only a couple blocks from the boardwalk. The staff was nice and accommodating, but the room was less than mediocre. The bathroom counter and floor were dirty. When I dropped the towel on the floor and picked it up, it was dirty, as if it hadn’t been swept and mopped for a long time. The room floor felt very dirty, and in one spot, it smelled like urine. I wore socks when I stepped on the floor. Great location but the room was nasty."
