"Very poorly maintained rooms. Not as advertised. TV didn’t work, latches broken on windows, peeling paint, damp patches on ceiling. Staff didn’t make an effort to resolve our concerns properly when raised and seemed to think the condition was acceptable."

"No did not get a beach view ,although room was clean, staff are very helpful outer side badly needing painting and smartning up, no food at this hotel u have to go next door to the Carleton hotel. Fire alarm went off late thursday night but it was ok maybe a bug in the sensory thing in the rooms? Noisy people next door to me doors banging loud conversation so not much sleep had!"

"Swapped out sea view room, sadly, but hotel had an old world charm and the hottest swimming pool I've ever been in. That's not necessarily a good thing unless you're someone that doesn't want to swim and then you're fine. Staff were warm and welcoming, lots of flash cars on the driveway. Really liked the look of the rooms by the pool. Breakfast was a bit busy and staff a little frazzled but pleasant. The wallpaper in the bar was amazing. Wonderful location, the higher the floor the better - if you're put on the first floor (like us) and not given the room you're booked, then you're clearly not an A-lister... :-). Room was wonderful."

"A lovely hotel and very accommodating. They were happy to store my bike for me overnight and looked after my bag before and after check in. A great selection on the tea tray and a lovely touch with the radio in the room playing classical music when I arrived. It was a relaxing stay"

"We only stayed for one night, but it was a great hotel. Everything was clean and in a good state of repair. The room was huge and had everything we needed, e.g. coffee machine, iron, TV, etc. Breakfast was pretty good, I liked the combination of ordering your main dish but being able to help yourself to cereal, fruit, pastries, drinks, etc. I had eggs royale and it was good. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is all parts of the hotel other than where we had breakfast are quite dated - nothing is damaged or looking worn out at all, it's just the style of everything. I imagine it looked incredible about 20-30 years ago. "
