"Lovely clean property with friendly, helpful staff right on the beach"

"Fantastic place for sundowners on the patio, magnificent view over the harbour. Not so nice to carry drinks outside to table down steps, with waiters stood around doing nothing."

"We used two bedrooms during our stay and neither had wi-fi working. Breakfast was chaotic with guests waiting for clean crockery etc. to arrive etc. The leisure facilities are good and the views from sea facing rooms are excellent."

"Great rural location (i am not a golfer), really nice room, clean and comfortable and reasonably stylish. Only let downs were; paper thin walls so could hear quiet conversations in the adjacent rooms, and a noisy shower (neighbour showered at 1am!). it was a heatwave; room fans were provided but it would have been good to fully ventilate the rooms. Due to work commitments i had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on that."

"Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. "Not the best but not the worst by far"

"I arrived with my 8 year old for a 2 night stay during a very hot heatwave. Upon checking in I proceeded to attempt to use the little elevator which got stuck between floors with me inside so I went back down and carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs. I immediately noticed how stifling hot the room was and saw the thermostat had a spanner symbol on. I had to call down 2x to get assistance which came in the form of a small fan. We booked a reservation to eat downstairs at the restaurant and...

"Excellent location right opposite the castle. Very comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Good food at the 18 restaurant with a 30 per cent discount for hotel guests. Would definitely return in the future."

"Lovely clean and tidy hotel. The rooms look refurbished and were spotless. We had the family room which was bigger than we were expecting. Two separate bedrooms and a bathroom. The staff were pleasant. Parking plentiful. Breakfast (eggs, hash browns, beans, sausages, bacon etc.) was included. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants/shops. Perfect for our stay."
