"Everything was really good. It’s a good location for someone who doesn’t want to stay right in the town. We were initially situated in a suite near the laundromat and it was very loud. Front desk was quick to offer us another room. Unfortunately, housekeeping missed us and for a hotel where we’re paying a resort/facility fee + parking fee, it was a little disappointing. "My husband and I drove the coast of California from Paso Robles to stay here in Monterey. After a long day of driving, we were thrilled to enter the building and hear they have upgraded us to partial ocean view. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed a relaxing view before dinner. It is centrally located near lot of activities, cafés, beaches, and more! "The hotel was stylish and new with very friendly staff and great amenities. There was also a nice restaurant on-site which made it easy to dine all meals if needed or was right beside multiple restaurants within easy walking distance. I loved the dog friendliness, my 2 pups received a little welcome gift. We would definitely stay here again!"

"This is most certainly an older hotel but the room was completely updated and had a super comfortable bed and pillows, great shower, nice Kerig coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The place was immaculately clean! We would only have hoped to have two bedside tables but there was just one. Parking was easy and just steps from the room. It felt safe and convenient to shopping and restaurants. We highly recommend staying here!"

"Check in was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Son enjoyed the pool which was nice after long days at Laguna Seca. Close enough to fast food restaurants and grocery stores including some fantastic donuts at Monterey Donuts. Also being an easy drive to and from Laguna was great. If we are able to make the trip again next year we will strongly consider using El Castell again"

"I had a very lovely stay! The location is great…very close to everything you could possibly need. The room was spotless and had lots of amenities…fridge and microwave were perfect! The bed was super comfy too! They have laundry on site and you can also refill water legacy was very helpful! Everyone I encountered was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning to this property and highly recommend!"

"Parking was great, we loved that even after checking out by noon, we were able to leave our car parked until 4pm. However, I would recommend trying to get into a room on the top floor, otherwise you hear every step from the guests in the room above you. "
