"Very nice set up. I picked this location for convenience from the airport. But after a couple of days, I moved closer to the volcano and decided to walk. For reference it’s a 90 minute walk, but it was incredibly awesome."

"Pros: Lovely staff, very kind and poligt and would do anything to help. If you are visiting to do the whale tour, it’s the best location! Terrace is lovely, directly to the beach. Negatives: I found a long woman hair on my pillow as soon as I checked in. The frogs barking at night wouldn’t allow us to sleep. The door has a glass towards the hallway, and the hallway has the lights on = The room was full of light at night. The hotel pictures do not represent the reality of the hotel....

"The room was sufficient, but the bathroom definitely needed to be reworked. There is no hot running water. There is no real pressure for the shower. So I had to use the bucket and a kettle that was provided by the hotel to heat up my water so I wasn’t taking a cold bucket bath. There were also about a dozen ants inside the bathroom that I spotted. If anything, the bathroom can certainly be upgraded. The area around the property is very noisy with traffic. But if I would shut the bathroom window...

"I’ve never experienced a better staff than these wonderful people at the Altamar, my girlfriend and I had such a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful scenery, beach, pool and food! The staff surprised us on numerous occasions with a romantic dinner table and breakfast table outside with candles and beanbags! This was my first trip to the Philippines and I’ve never in my life received the wonderful treatment of the staff, thank you for everything! This is the #1 place to stay!! "

"The room was spacious with nice view of Mayon volcano. The water pressure and hot water supply in bathroom area left something to be desired. Rooms in general could use updating. Breakfast buffet options were good but found a insect inside one of the juices. Staff were not as friendly as what I am used to. In general, it was a good place to stay though in this non tourist town."
