"This was our 2nd stay when visiting Portsmouth for gigs. The hotel team are always very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is always good with good selection of fruits and juices to compliment ( if you actually have room). Free parking on a 1st come basis. All in all a great place to stay when in Pompey!"

"There were two restaurants near one Greek and one Latin American we tried the latter and it was good, the Greek one was closed Monday. Staff were welcoming, small family run hotel so personal. Nice bar area. Breakfast was included (continental) but they did offer boiled eggs or bacon bap or sausage bap in the morning."

We needed three rooms, and staff had arranged that they were three adjacent rooms, which was good. "Dirty room that smelt of dog. Dog hairs on the carpet, skirting boards that looked like they hadn’t been wiped over in months. The mattress was an old type spring mattress with minimal support, so didn’t have the best nights sleep. This is the worst Holiday in room I have ever stayed in."

"The bed and breakfast is Cowes was in a great location. It was easy to walk to town and parking for our vehicle was provided. The hosts were terrific - providing great recommendations for dinners and things to do. The breakfast was delicious and was a great start to our day. The hosts’ 2 dogs were so CUTE!"

Better than average bathroom (for English hotels). Dining room nice. A/C was "under maintenance" on the hottest day of the year else would give 4 stars. Some attempts have been made to make it wheelchair accessible but not really."

"Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

I spoke to reception about the air con and how hot it was in the room, they gave us desktop fans and told us there wasn't really anything else they could do as there were quite a few rooms with the same issue!! "This place is overrated, dated, unclean. Friendly staff but it is quite far from the town centre and it feels more like it is about how you as a customer can help the staff - it is about their needs, not yours as a customer."

"No door key as all digital, had to use phone which is ok but only gives access to 1 person. Shower temperature was luke warm at it's hottest, shower gel dispenser didn't work. Also the air-conditioning didn't work, had to use the fan instead. Room was noisy due to the adjacent pub."
