It was my birthday during our stay, and they surprised me by leaving a cake in my room! Only negative is that the pool is very shallow, so you can't really swim in it. It is deep enough to sit in it, so it is nice to cool off in. And the pool area gets very busy and most people have to sit on chairs not loungers. However we enjoyed the vibe up there so...

"The Catalonia Porto was a very good spot for our two night stay. Breakfast was very good including a machine that freshly squeezed orange juice. Delicious! Staff was very helpful, organizing our rooms so that we were all on the same floor. I only have two complaints. One is that the water in the shower only had two basic temperaturesm: scalding and cold. I’m not sure what the deal was, but we couldn’t find a happy medium there. "In the room, hand soap, shampoo and body wash were provided, but no box of tissue, just a small package of tissue. The sink in the bathroom got blocked about 3 seconds after. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. All the staff were super nice. The bathroom and shower were also roomy, and the shower had excellent water pressure.
