"We stayed at the Dinsmore Boutique Inn for one night on a recent trip to Virginia. It’s a beautiful historic building. "I did not have a good stay. An accumulation of small inconveniences added up. Climate control unit had some kind of wrapper in the fan and would randomly make noise in the middle of the night. I should have switched rooms. I booked a 1-king and was given a 2-queen room. The complimentary water bottles were not restocked. Nothing was level in the construction. "No breakfast and parking sucks very congested area "

"Staff was great and we loved the location. I would let people know that there are rooms above a cafe. We would have asked for a different room if we had known, but it wasn't too loud in the morning. "

"One lamp did not work at all. Same thing with two USB ports. Very little soundproofing, when led to quite a noisy stay. My messages were not replied to. Rather disappointing, particularly for what I paid."

"Parking is very convenient in a crowded part of the city with limited parking. It's free and in the basement. Not a lover of the decor, but that's a personal choice and has nothing to do with the overall function of the hotel. My biggest complaint is the odd choice of their room doors. They are extremely heavy and have a spring action shut to them that makes them slam automatically, causing a huge "bang" all through the hall even if you try to close the door quietly. Not sure why it has to be so...

"Breakfast was limited but good enough. The room smelled bad probably from the dirty carpet. The sink was not draining at first but the staff attended to it immediately. There were enough parking spaces. "
