Queens Hotel Cheltenham
6/10 Okay
"While the room was large and bedding was good, the room was too warm. The heat is centrally controlled. The air conditioner could not adequately compensate. The place is old and as such floors slant and can be disorienting. Dinner menu was acceptable but not spectacular for the ambiance of the hotel. "

The Colesbourne Inn
8/10 Good
"Friendly and efficient service from staff, good food for evening meal and spacious bedroom/ bathroom. Excellent breakfast in choice and quality, although first and last time I have a vegan sausage 😂.
A few minor issues for us, forgot to tell the owners they need a bath and shower safety mat, as jolly slippy in that shower and navigating the rolltop bath in room 14. Bathroom could do with a little cupboard for our toiletries please .
To turn extractor fan off at night, small people like me can’t reach the switch, you may have to ask where the switch for towel radiator is too.
The only big thing we had was the road is pretty noisy in the morning from 6am even with windows shut ( fast road) and you may have to ask for a quieter, back room than room 14 or take ear plugs if a light sleeper.
You can reserve a table for evening meal if want, but residents always get priority.

The George

"It was a very polished hotel that was very well presented. A fairly easy layout on the room apart from the fact that it was a little bit cobwebbed and the air conditioner was blasting with no easy way of shutting it off. It wasn’t until I left that I realised when the dial was. The shower, thought powerful, leaked and flooded the bathroom so I needed to use all my towels to mop up the mess. I could forgive the above but the pillows made it quite difficult to sleep. There were lots of them and they were huge."

"Fantastic hotel, but you have to be prepared to meander through an assortment of corridors and flights of stairs to get to your room sometimes... Not always easy with no lifts available and when carrying lots of luggage. Rather than a business stay, might be better for a romantic night away. Both restaurants are exceptional."

Ramada by Wyndham Cheltenham
6/10 Okay
"1 night stay on business trip. Room was clean, spacious, reasonably well equipped but a little worn in places. Staff were helpful and breakfast was ok. Overall a reasonable stay."

Citrus Hotel Cheltenham by Compass Hospitality

"Parking was flexible. I have a high top vehicle so could not get into underground car park so was directed to park at rear of the hotel."

DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham-Cotswolds
8/10 Good
"First room over looked aircon units and smelt damp so changed rooms. Asked for firmer pillows and was offered bath towels instead. Finally got it right. Breakfast was great. Good choice and hot. Toaster as always one side brown the other near burnt. Bar staff excellent, fast service and friendly. The main dining room is another story. Asked if they had a table as we hadn't booked and was left waiting for 10 minutes. Left with no response so pretty poor. Ordered room service but so far down the corridor ot was barely warm. I general good hotel"
