"The space was just what we needed to rest in the summertime while my kids went to camp at the Brandywine Battlefield. We did have an AC system that did not work until the next to last day and we were given another room. Other than that the pool was great, the breakfast was great, and the hotel was clean."

The pool is very small, but sufficient, and the breakfast was a good variety but they did struggle keeping up to keep things full, and most of the food, while tasty, wasn't hot. Will stay again!"

"The Bookhouse is a wonderful concept! Prioritizing books, making them accessible everywhere, is delightful. There were adventurous and playful touches, including the secret hide-away on the first floor, behind a bookcase. Housing a hotel in a very old house is another terrific choice. The restoration process is clearly in progress; it's understandable that it's a long-term project. Drawbacks were largely fixable. Whatever scent is used in the house, apparent on the threshold, overwhelming...

"The room was clean with plenty of parking. Breakfast was pretty good. Elevators were a little dirty. Front desk was helpful but there was a storm during our stay. The pool wasnt open on time the next day. We didnt know this and went and asked how to access the pool, dressed in suits with towels. He told us and after we went outside we saw it was closed. We came back in and said 'oh. Its closed temporarily because of the storm.' That part is fine but it was a little irksome that he didnt say...

"There were a few problems.. No soap in the shower or at the sink. The walls were paper thin. We could hear the neighbors We were placed in the back next to a room with dogs. The location is isolated, no where to walk from there"

"I booked a two‑queen‑bed room for four people on Expedia. When we arrived, the hotel said the reservation was actually for one king bed and refused to change it since it came from a third party. Expedia sold me a room type I didn’t receive, and we were stuck with no remedy. This is misleading, inconvenient, and unacceptable. One star."

"Outdated. Floors outside not vacuumed. Side door is propped open all the time so anyone can sneak in from there without a card key. Pillows are bricks. Spring beds with that plastic covering you find in a dorm room or prison bed. The fan that circulates the air from the living to bedroom did not work, so I had to sleep in hot heat. Sink's drain plug was half assed fixed with blue tape. Price for what you get sucks, but unfortunately it's the cheapest option around there."
