This delightful property is run by sisters with a long history in Chiang Mai. They served us breakfast each day and provided interesting conversation. We stayed in Room 1 (there are six rooms) and it was clean, well-appointed, and spacious. The mattress was a little firm for our taste but the location and atmosphere were first-rate!

Lovely hotel

Amazing small hotel. Large spotless clean rooms. Lovely breakfast. Attentive but not intrusive staff. Owner/manager very informative regarding sites worth visiting on our short stay. The lovely lady had excellent English. They went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. So much so that as we were leaving at 6.30am we did not expect breakfast but they kindly provided a lovely light breakfast.

This hotel is fantastic! Totally recommend. It is located inside the Old City just inside the south gate. It is super quite of a night time away from the night market & clubs noise. The hotel is very personal. The hotel staff make you feel very special. They are willing to help with any request or useful tips.

I like just about everything except for the roosters and dogs barking for a minute around 5 am. Great location and service. I would recommend and definitely stay there again.

The location is convenient and the room is spacious though we three adults shared a twin room. The hostess is helpful and the other staff are pleasant too.

Un enfer.

Quatre merveilleuses nuits passées dans cet établissement où nous fûmes réveillés TOUS les matins à exactement 4H00 ; non, nous n’avions pas réveil, c’était inutile. Nous avons pu compter sur la précision du chant des coqs se trouvant dans la rue. Ceux-ci chantaient pendant environ 3H (de 4H à 7H du matin environ), nous réveillaient tous (même ceux au sommeil très lourd) ainsi que les chiens vivants dans le quartier ce qui eux aussi les agaçaient et ils se mettaient aussitôt à aboyer. Malgré avoir informé l’établissement à la suite de la première nuit, absolument rien n’a été fait mais ne dormant pas sur place, cela leur est égal. Heureusement que nous avions préalablement demandé des chambres silencieuses par e-mail. Après deux nuits, un message nous attendait dans la chambre, l’espoir que le problème soit résolu m’a envahi, mais ce fut un ascenseur émotionnel quand j’ai réalisé que ce n’était qu’une facture à payer pour le jus de mangue consommé dans le minibar (qui est au passage vendu 4 fois plus cher qu’au 7/11 situé à 120 mètres). Climatisation qui fait plusieurs fois par heure des bruits étranges et désagréables. Wi-Fi dont on nous informe au check-in qu’il ne marche « exceptionnellement » pas. Personnel peu accueillant et non souriant qui troue tous vos passeports avec des agrafes à l’arrivée en plus de d’exiger les bordereaux d’immigration qui ne sont pas exigibles pour séjourner en Thaïlande, le tampon dans le passeport faisant foi.

Quiet haven in great location

Narissa was our host and she was fabulous. She emailed us the day of our arrival to confirm our flight time and arrange a timely pickup. Our flight was delayed 5 hours so she had to pickup much later than planned. She was so welcoming and understanding and even gave us a short tour around the old city before bringing us to the Golden Wells. The room was cool, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect, fresh fruits an omelette, toast and coffee. Yogurt with muesli and fruit was also delicious. This was our first visit to Chiangmai and it was made especially wonderful because we stayed here with a gracious host in a prime location.

Our two bedroom suites is very comfortable, spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast were amazing, there are few choices and each of them come with fruits and bread. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Narisa is very friendly and hospitality,and she is very kindly to show us how to buy the beautiful mosquito coil box(ceramic made),and there is a big surprise for us when we follow her instruction to the flower market! We are happy to buy a lot of ceramic products over there.

Quality spacious studio in centre of Chiang mai

Good location within the central moat area. Easy access to cafes, restaurants and local temples. The room itself was large, bright and airey and while the view over the surrounding roofs was nothing special the room and windows were not overlooked so curtains could be left open. The room had a small kitchenette with kettle, sink and draining board, as well as 2 electric rings and pots, pans, plates and cutlery. No toaster or microwave so limited in that respect but still more than expected. The bed was large and comfortable, despite being 2 beds pushed together sharing a single duvet. The tv was relatively small but had a good range of tv and satellite channels and the overall layout of tv, sofa, bed and kitchen was well thought out and spacious. Bathroom and shower with raindrop head was another plus point being bright and roomy. Couldn't comment on breakfast as we ate locally (bagel cafe) which we knew would be good. Nothing to fault in the hotel, room , services or welcome. The rate was a little high for the location and overall hotel rating but good value for the quality of room anoverall feel of the place.

New boutique hotel with outstanding service

We had a great time in Chang Mai and would highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends for the big rooms, great breakfast and outstanding service!

Adorable hotel in a great location

I have never before written a hotel review but was compelled to do so for the Golden Wells because it was so lovely. We stayed one night and were going to be picked up the next morning to go to an elephant sanctuary. The pick-up time was at the same time their complementary breakfast began, which meant we would not be able to have breakfast there. When we returned to our room after exploring the city we found a carefully decorated note explaining that since we were leaving early they had arranged to make us an early breakfast. Not only was the note sweet and thoughtful, but the breakfast the next morning was amazing. And then, as our ride came one of the women from the hotel ran out to give us freshly baked muffins to take with us for a snack. This place was fantastic and I highly, highly recommend it to anyone. If I ever find myself in Chiang Mai again this is where I will stay.
