We are sorry you came at a time when there was sargassum on the beaches of the Virgin Islands. We cannot predict if and when it will come or how long it will last. One change in the weather / currents between Africa and the Caribbean will change its course and it can disappear overnight.

We are sorry you were disappointed, however, you chose a studio unit at Club St. Croix, which is a lovely 3 star beachfront resort, with vast ocean views, private balconies, full kitchens, Olympic size pool and a whirl-pool, tennis and pickle ball courts, and a restaurant on property, that is conveniently located within a 5 minute drive of grocery stores, numerous restaurants and historic Christiansted. Of the 2 beachfront resorts on St. Croix that we consider to be ‘plush’, the 4 star costs approximately $250+ more per night, and the 5 star, approximately $550+ more per night than you paid at Club St. Croix. Neither has a full kitchen and neither is all inclusive. We offer a good product at a fair price.

Thank you for your review. It was a very busy time, and there are limited resources, like rental cars, available on the island. We are sorry about the seaweed. It comes and goes depending on the winds and tides. We will pass your comments on to the restaurant. It is an independent lease, and I am sure they will appreciate the feedback from our guests.

We really wish you had reported the issues to the front desk when we could have done something about them. We are here to help.

This reservation was for a one bedroom unit and the reservation specified it would be for 3 adults. What the guest fails to mention is that, upon arrival, they requested a rollaway bed, which is not generally offered for the one bedroom units. The following day, staff noticed there were actually 6 adults staying in that one bedroom, one bathroom unit. We offered - and should have insisted – that per our policy, they either rent an additional one bedroom unit to accommodate the other 3 adults or they move to a 2 bedroom unit with a rollaway bed. But they insisted they liked the unit, they were comfortable, and did not want to pay more for their accommodations. We then offered to move them to another one bedroom with a king bed versus queen bed in order to give them more sleeping space. Still they literally praised the unit they were in and said they would make the space work. On day 3, they did report a lack of hot water, which was due to a tripped breaker, and it was ‘fixed’ immediately. Housekeeping is performed every other day on weekdays, and it was challenging to provide our normal quality of service in a one bedroom, one bathroom unit occupied by 6 adults and their luggage – twice the occupancy limit. Yet it was the holidays and we did our best to accommodate them. The guests’ departure was then delayed by one day because they had missed their flight. They made a subsequent reservation for that night only – a one bedroom, one bath with a king bed and a rollaway. They had already checked out of the first unit but the front desk was distracted and did not notice they had not returned the room key. The guests had been pleasant, and had only good things to say to us about the property, about the units and about the service, so we continued to work with them. The following day, housekeeping notified us the guests had apparently used BOTH units for their one night reservation, so part of their party stayed for free in the first unit by retaining that room key after checkout. Then they made their final departure from the property 4+ hours after the 11am checkout time without prior notification to the front desk. Still we were not motivated to officially report them until we saw the review. We feel it can only be due to their final request for yet another financial concession/discount - because of a short time without hot water, and housekeeping services that were challenged by the sheer number of persons and their belongings occupying a one bedroom, one bathroom unit, all the while saying how happy there were with the unit and the property and us.
