"The hotel is really clean, our room had air conditioning so really good as it was quite hot when we stayed. Our room was available as we were a little early which was really helpful."

"The Chateau property was great,.. the golf team, spa team and Tres Fresques restaurant staff were all top notch, everyone was very helpful and friendly. A nod to the housekeeping staff, they always had smiles and were very efficient and thorough. However, we rated 'service' lower because of the Bistro staff. Two older men in particular, who worked many hours in the Bistro, were overly rude and insulting, so much so, we went to great lengths to go off property so we wouldn't have to endure their awful service. Nevertheless, we would love to come back to the property someday and refer it to our friends."

"Rooms are a decent size and very clean. The pool is also well maintained. Restaurant opposite was fine but you need to drive to anywhere else as there are no made up pavements. Parking in Bergerac Town is easy."

"I loved everything about my stay, especially the staff. Each and every person was immensely hospitable and genuinely kind. The property is gorgeous and impeccably clean. My room was an actual suite with so much space and charm. It lacked nothing. The decor, the views, the spaciousness; everything was perfect!! I highly recommend this beautiful place and plan to make it a regular place to visit, as I absolutely love the staff, the amazing service, and the charm and beauty of the Chateau. Even the guests were lovely, and I enjoyed meeting so many interesting and joyful people. In fact, I’ve come away with three friends who may very likely be lifelong friends. I’d give 30 stars if I could. Highly recommend."

"Excellent service on arrival. The staff member provided information to us on the local area and discounts we can receive for eating at their recommended restaurant. The hotel is on a retail park, on the outskirts of the town but the shops and eateries are worth a visit. The room was basic, but clean, this was expected. The shower and basin is in the bedroom which was inconvenient when other members of the family were visiting the room. Breakfast was a basic continental offering."

"We had a fantastic stay at the Hôtel de France in Bergerac and couldn't recommend it more highly. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. Special mention must go to the gentleman who checked us in — he was friendly, helpful and welcoming from the very first moment, nothing was too much trouble, and he gave us brilliant tips on the local area. It's rare to receive such a genuinely warm welcome, and it set the tone for our whole stay. The rest of the staff were equally lovely — always smiling, always happy to help, and clearly proud of their hotel. The room was comfortable and spotless, and the location is perfect for exploring Bergerac's beautiful old town, just a short stroll away. We left feeling like we'd been looked after by friends rather than staff. We'll definitely be back — thank you to the whole team, and especially to the gentleman on reception!"
