"We originally made a reservation for Friday night, paid in full. A day or two latr, we received an invitation to extend our stay to Saturday night at a special rate. After the third such email, we talked it over, and accepted, then made extra plans for the weekend. We also took out travel insurance just in case.
The day of our first night, we got a notice that our "request" for the extra night would not be honored. I called three times during their stated office hours once to the listed emergency number, asking what the heck was going on. No one was there, left three voicemails asking for help. No one called back.
With check in only four hours away, we finally found another hotel for both nights, and booked that. I tried to use the trip insurance but was told it had expired at midnight the previous night, so no refund was possible.
So we are out $200, and to add insult to injury we FINALLY heard from the hotel this morning saying essentially that this was our fault, no refund. This was a popular weekend in Cannon Beach, and i suspect the hotel was hoping to sell our room twice.
Not the way to do business with us, certainly.
