"This place is a gem. Our room cabin number 1 was huge. Ac and hot water worked perfectly. The host was extremely helpful. We were steps from the beach, parrots flying in the early morning. The room had everything you could need. There were restaurants very nearby. And one on site. Our favorite was the Native bar next to the beach. "

"The location was tranquil, the room was fantastic and Danny, the owner was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant stay. The room is equipped with everything you need to feel at home, and in the morning I received a gorgeous breakfast basket which included local fruits, a bagel and freshly squeezed juice. " We stayed at Ballena Rey Hotel from December 14–18 in Unit 9 while traveling from Canada to do some scuba diving in Uvita, and we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Housekeeping came every day to clean the room and provide fresh towels, which we really appreciated after long days of diving. The hotel is located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. The property itself has a peaceful atmosphere and was never noisy. Our unit was on the ground floor beside the pool and restaurant area, but noise was never an issue. By the time we went to bed around 9 p.m., everything was calm and quiet. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable to sleep in which makes a huge difference. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The daytime manager at the front desk (we unfortunately can’t remember his name) truly stood out. He went above and beyond to help us with any requests, always greeted us with a warm smile, and genuinely cared about how our day was going. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Uvita! "
