"From making our room booking, adding food bookings and treatments was hassle. Getting through on the phone was just ringing out, so I tried messaging which took a week to get an unsatisfactory answer. We booked rooms and spa package but still had to pay extra to go for a swim on our arrival and then they wanted extra for slippers. "The room, separate to and, around the back of the pub was stunning. It was warm and cosy with a controllable radiator for heat. Bed was very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. No shower, but a lovely bath with a handheld shower head. Perfect place to stay before starting the Thames Path. Food was elevated pub fare, and brekkie was the standard full English."

When I mentioned that I'd nearly fallen twice and it needed a non-slip mat, I was told can't be done as this would be an admission that there is a problem. Plus, the light in the bathroom is on a motion sensor timer and kept cutting out leaving me in the shower, in the dark.
