"It should be made very clear that there is no in-person reception at the hotel. Only when attempting my check-in did I discover from a sign outside the previous reception area that check-in must now be carried out at the associated pub/restaurant opposite. In addition, the web site posted telephone number, which has a Telford area code, in reality links to a comms centre situated somewhere else. I was told that I would be redirected to the hotel. But no one picked up my call. I now understand...

"We had a two night stay here in May. Firstly I’d like to say that the staff were superb especially Lucy who seemed to be there every second of every day looking after us checking in, out, breakfast and dinner. Thank you so much. The rooms were clean and the beds were big snd very comfortable. Excellent location in a lovejy area with shops a 2 minute walk away and the station 5 mins away to get into central Manchester. Overall a really nice stay in a nice clean hotel."

The cover over the shower plughole was broken and the lead on the kettle was too short and had to be used on the floor. Also the mattress was too firm for us."

"Hotel is right in the heart of Buxton, a convenient walk from the station. It was absolutely buzzing the whole time we were there - bands both nights, live sport in the day, but with the rooms being in a separate building out the back of the pub, it was amazingly quiet after the yard had been emptied. "Stayed one night as it is close to my old school for a reunion. I stayed in the Pig Room. Apparently being in a farming area, each room has an animal instead of a room number. To all those who have stayed in the Pig Room, you will understand. The shelving is in the wrong place as is the TV. Swop the TV and shelving around and your guests would not have to strain to see the TV. Also the TV is painfully small. My biggest complaint was the bed. It was so low. Almost a futon. OK for young...

"This is a beautiful old warehouse, which was quiet and comfortable. We felt we could come and go as we pleased. We didnt use any on site facilities, but it all looked clean and vibrant.
