"The team who served me were helpful and friendly. The guy who checked me in was efficient and really nice, so the procvess was quick but he made me feel very welcome. I had dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both."

"The staff were lovely, easy to talk to and welcoming. Clean comfortable spacious room. Lovely historic building with guest information book in the room explaining the area and its history. Marvelous breakfast choices. If something needed changing the staff responded perfectly. Didn't have time to use the gym/pool but other guests seemed happy. Look forward to the opportunity to return. "Wagon was in a lovely location on a farm and owner was very nice, once I managed to find the farm , but checking in time or instructions would have been helpful . Bed was comfortable and I did appreciate the tea, sugar and milk provided , but the room itself was quite cold -with one tiny inadequate heater . Bathroom was also very cold and smelled very damp and unfortunately the toilet seat was loose and shooting off to one side. "

"Ok if your on a buget its no longer a pub so cant get a beer. The location is remote with poor taxi availability but there is a pub 10 mins walk away"

"Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time."

"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

"Easy parking for a few cars, The Castle Hotel is a good place to stop in the area. The staff were very helpful and the check in and out was very easy but the rooms and amenities would benefit from a bit of maintenance and a deep clean."

"Parking is an issue at this hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Food at the function I attended was very good considering the numbers involved. Some training of the serving staff might help. One of them knocked my drink over, said "Sorry" and that was that. Drinks were very pricey."
