Just so you know, In route to be there for a 3 pm check in, I was called to be at the venue I was DJing at early to handle a issue, so I wouldn't have time to make it there until later in the evening. I called the hotel, tried to explain the situation, but before I could finish, the person on the phone quickly put me on hold, tried to charge my card and I declined it when the notification hit me, because I didn't know who it was at first, until he said he tried to charge my card. I tried again explaining to him I would be there after 11 PM, but I promised I would be there and would make the payment, but he said he makes no promises there would be any rooms, but he wouldn't cancel my reservation. So when I called to say I was on my way, I was hung up 2 or 3 times, then told my reservation was cancelled and hung up on again when I tried to ask why?
So no I didn't stay, I was able to make other arrangements at a better hotel and was $60 cheaper. If the man had of simply said to me, he would've had to charge my card, I would've said OK and accepted the security request, but because he tried to be slick, Super 8 lost a potential repeat customer."
