"Very pleasant small property. 5 mins walk from central Ambleside. Well equipped and warm. Perhaps a bit small for a family of 4 but great for two people. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. Only one parking space but a car park 4 mins walk down the hill. Would recommend."

"Due to a issue with Poppythorn cottage we were moved to Colleton we were advised of this prior to our visit via text. Very good communication throughout our stay. Staff were so helpful and quick in responding to our queries. Stunning location, we stayed for 2 nights, wish we had booked for longer! Cottage was extremely clean inside, a few weeds outside but not a big issue. Perfect and secure for my Dog. 5 minute drive to Alston where there were a couple of the pubs open and nice gift shops. "Visable damp on the bathroom wall by the shower and a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs area including bedrooms. The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry. Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left. It was a real shame because everything else about the property and surrounding area was beautiful, but...
