"My family really enjoyed our stay at Tides Folly Beach hotel. The staff were very friendly at check-in and even enabled us to check in much earlier than the 4pm stated check-in time. During our stay, the staff we encountered were all super friendly and helpful. When we had a minor issue with the toilet in our room, they sent up a plumber to address the problem right away.
The room was clean upon arrival. The only minor issues I would note are that the balcony is not big enough to sit on and enjoy the ocean front view. You can slide open the glass door, and step on to the balcony, but that is all. Also, the shower did not have a door (as designed), which led to water getting on bathroom floor. There is also no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so it would get very steamy during/after a shower. These were all minor inconveniences though.
The hotel is ideally located near the restaurants and shops in Folly Beach. There were numerous excellent restaurants and coffee shops that are within walking distance. Pinky's On The Beach, the Tides own onsite restaurant, had great food and live music on the weekend.
We would definitely recommend the Tides Folly Beach hotel. The location, friendliness of the staff, and the beautiful beach all made this a memorable stay for us."
