A lot to like about this hotel. Right in the heart of death valley, within walking/hiking distance of a small slot canyon and awesome sand dunes, very friendly staff, ample amenities including restaurant, saloon and stores, fair prices, pet friendly rooms... will definitely come back!

Loved staying here. The cowboy saloon was a vibe and there were bats with me in the pool when I swam at night and they ate a big right in front of me. Really polite of them I did not want the bug to touch me while I was swimming. 10/10 would visit the valley again.

Staff was friendly. Rooms where clean but walls are thin. Dining was fine, pool was freezing. It's desolate, your in Death Valley after all.

This is a great option central to Death Valley sights. Clean and safe property with good sized rooms. Only thing missing is a coffee maker in the room. Staff are all very friendly and helpful, from the servers at the restaurant to the checkin staff and store clerks. Convenience store across the street has excellent, tasty food options for take and go lunch options while in the park. Would stay here again if visiting Death Valley.

The most amazing hotel experience we have ever had. It is truly out there in the wilderness, no cell reception, they do have Wi-Fi that is strong around the reception and at the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was fabulous, highly recommend. Our server Violet was super awesome and accommodating. There is a small convenience store across the street that has some necessities, and it is open until 10 pm.

Stovepipe Wells is a remote area of Death Valley, so you need to set expectations accordingly. That said, the basic rooms were comfortable and functional for touring the park. The restaurant and bar on site are excellent and a stand out for a remote park location -- and several echelons higher in quality, service and value than the mediocre Xanterra facilities at Furnace Creek 30 minutes away. The eggs at breakfast were REAL eggs, not plastic, powdered crap. The steaks at dinner were tasty and cooked to order. Save your money, avoid the Ranch and the Inn at Death Valley and stay here instead. Very convenient to Sand Dunes and Mosaic Canyon, 30 minutes from Furnace Creek.

The room was adequate but not great. Overpriced for what you get. The main dining room was closed. The saloon was the only place to eat but because of renovations a lot of foods were not available and then because the delivery truck didn't arrive due to an accident on the interstate a lot of the toppings for pizza we're not available. So we were limited to pizza with limited toppings or hot dogs.

The check in process wasn't great. The lady working at the counter was very slow, often repeating herself and clueless. The restaurant food is disgusting. Everything in the park is EXTREMELY expensive. For example, a low quality, not fresh and small muffin was nine dollars. I highly recommend you bring snacks, drinks and food with you.

Staff were very friendly. Room and bed was comfortable, restroom nice with hot water and good pressure. The pool looked a bit dirty so we skipped it. The walls seemed quite thin so we could hear our neighbors when they woke up early, 6 am to leave. But I would stay here again, as it had all the comforts we needed and it’s in the middle of Death Valley (ie nowhere) and the price is reasonable compared to the more expensive and limited options available. The restaurant saloon food was surprisingly good. We ordered burgers and onion rings and salad.
