Inch worm invasion in hallways and our room. Staff vacuumed hallways, but management didn’t seem to see it as their responsibility to keep worms out of guests’ rooms. Do they ever walk on worms in their bedrooms or wonder if worms are crawling by their toothbrushes???

Overall a good choice for the area. Room was clean and the property well maintained. Outdoor pool was nice yet not enough seating. Food was fair with few good options. We had to request basic housekeeping; we stayed 4 nights and they did not clean the room.

The first room I was assigned was absolutely horrible - the carpet was dirty and had hair on it and rubber bands, and there was a huge clump of hair in the bathroom. It was disgusting!!! however, the hotel staff was amazing and they upgraded me to one of their little cabins which was definitely nicer, but the property is very old, so even the cabin was dark and rather dreary. The property itself was great. The restaurant was fantastic and they have the best bartender with the greatest personality ever! I wish I could remember his name, but I can’t. Great location and I had a fabulous time, but I would not spend this kind of money to stay in these old rundown rooms again.

Check in failed to mention you need to use your keycard to operate lights. I wasted three frustrating minutes trying to figure out why the lights wouldn't work. General store sold cases of soda that had non twist off bottles. Then told me to go buy bottle opener for $18. There are no reasonable choices for food between a buffet and a high-end steak house apart from the general store food which has airport pricing

I’m in my late 50’s and have no children. At my age and traveling alone I can tolerate a lot. But this property was not very well maintained. I know they must respect the night sky and limit light pollution, so be warned when you walk the grounds at night bring a flashlight! They have zero-night lighting. Plus, driving around the campus was difficult because there is very little traffic signage giving proper direction. The parking striping has faded, and it was difficult to navigate the roads. They can place reflectors on the pavement that will illuminate the road path when the headlights shine on them. That would help illuminate the road but do not give off light pollution. During breakfast no one at the restaurant was managing the buffet. They ran out of fruit, eggs and sausage. They also ran out of coffee during breakfast! That can’t happen. No one was bussing the tables. Half the tables were not available because of someone else’s dirty dishes. I stayed in building six (6). The hallway smelled like a basement. The room was fine, but they need to clean the full-length mirror and pay attention to the those kind of details. The bathroom was also fine. The towels were old and were not soft. The Tavern was nice. The Post Office was difficult to find. They had people driving around on golf carts. I’m not sure if it was a taxi service or not. No one offered me a lift.

The location is great, in the middle of the park. The property outdoor lighting is terrible. Road signs, room numbers, even handicapped parking spots are in the dark. If you arrive after sundown, and do not know the layout of the the facility, it's super hard to find your room. Our room has a completely disabled fridge, dial is missing and a wire is cut. Bed is comfortable yet the sheets don't look clean.

In the Park, very convenient for visiting different areas of the park, hikes, etc. Overall, comfortable stay with good air conditioning, basic room amenities. The restaurants and shops are OK, underwhelming, expensive for what you get, but you are in the middle of a desert, so it isn't completely unreasonable. They do overwater the lawns (which is a waste of water in the hottest place in the USA), with puddles on walking paths common. If we were to come back, we'd probably stay here again, but mostly just for the convinence.

We stayed at The Ranch in the cottages. They are very nice and were close the restaurants.
