"The view from the main deck was absolutely incredible, but none of the rooms have a view. The staff are friendly, but there’s only so much they can do because the place is set up to extract as much profit from each guest as possible. Even refilling your own coffee mug costs $4.75. The rooms and food are pretty mediocre. Also there’s no AC, and it got very warm in our room."

"The room was basic and functional . The real problem we faced was there was zero connectivity from the room Neither cellular , nor WiFi . Check-in was not any problem but would help if the person at the reception is a bit more warm and receptive towards the guests . "

"This is basically an upscale motel. Room was very small. Staff was very rude with exception of the young man who picked us up to take our bags to the parking lot. Our first impression was from the lady with the beak screeching at us to move our car when we were trying to unload."

"Holland America is really spread out but there is constant shuttle services for guests’ convenience. Two great onsite dine-in restaurants. Had meals at both and very nice. Lot of cruise guests who constantly have to navigate. Had a great room."

"The cabin was very nice and beds were comfortable . The bed Linens were very cozy. So much privacy. Very peaceful and quiet. Also the cabin was very clean. It had everything we need. I totally recommend staying here👍"

"We loved staying at the Talkeetna Lodge. The views of the mountains (including Denali) were spectacular!! The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly as were the servers in the restaurant. The only downside was there was one bartender (tattoos on face) who wasn't very friendly and seemed to have an attitude. Other than that, this was one of the best places we stayed in Alaska!! Thank you!"

"Our experience was somewhat disappointing compared to the property’s positive reviews. Check-in was at 2:00 PM, and we arrived at 1:35 PM. Upon arrival, we were greeted with, “You guys arrived so early,” and informed that we would need to wait until the official check-in time. The room and amenities felt quite dated. The toilet had noticeable stains, which made the bathroom appear less clean than expected. The “breakfast” consisted of a Capri Sun, a yogurt, a granola bar, and a boiled egg left...

"We had a lovely stay at Talkeetna. The room is big enough and the beds comfy and large. The shower is, unusual for Alaska, not fixed at the top so you can take it down which is a plus. The centre is just a 10 minute walk through the forest and the place perfect to explore the surroundings. The owner‘s family who are originally Swiss are lovely."

"The place was overall nice, but I had guests in town for the summer who don’t have cell service in Alaska, and we did not realize the wifi is pay to play and very slow, which I should have known since it’s Alaska, but it’s also outsourced so staff can’t help you at all if you have wifi service. Also you can hear other people very easily- the guests above us were up and very loud until 2am"

"Room was very well maintained. Location is tricky. Owner did send some kind of map but still needed his help to locate the exact room. GPS will get you close to the property but will need owners help to figure out the exact location of property. Keep the owners phone number handy before heading there. Property is on a slightly uphill and will need driving through unpaved road and curvy roads. While the photos are true that the backyard has wilderness, you cannot stay there even for few seconds...

"This is a large but charming hotel not far from the Denali national park. There are a few onsite restaurant options and many picnic tables in the “miner’s camp.” Even though there are many buildings, the layout is such that it feels like it is a smaller place. There are things for children to do as well as entertainment for adults. There are no refrigerators in the room, but there are nearby ice dispensers. Although we drove ourselves, there seemed to be shuttle service to park and other...

"Cozy cabin aesthetic with beautiful throw pillows and bedspread. Thoughtful amenities included like bath bombs, a banana bread loaf, hot chocolate packets, etc."

"If you plan on hanging out in your hotel room this is probably not the place for you. It is no frills, but very useful if you plan on spending most your time outdoors. There is a good chance you’ll see some wildlife near the property. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again."

"We enjoyed some of the nearby restaurants and gift shops. A lot of fun activities to do nearby. We were able to get a free shuttle back and forth to the train."
