"Quick and easy check in. Room was clean large. Breakfast could have been better the waffle maker burnt on and things were not very fresh. However the coffee was really good."

"The staff at the Hampton Inn were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered daily was basically as good as one might expect of hotel pre-prepared food. Yet the person managing the breakfast area kept it very neat. She even offered to bring us more coffee! She remembered guests that come through from time to time. So one feels welcome and a little more uplifted after breakfast. The front desk person was likewise friendly although I didn’t have as much interaction there."

"The building seemed to have been recently renovated and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Since the well had just been replaced and was awaiting testing, we were asked to not drink the tap water. They supplied us with water bottles to compensate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that the outside lights by the door were very bright and stayed on all night. Even with the room darkening curtains closed, the room did not get dark enough for my liking. "It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. "Stay was good. The loacation is very nice and it worked very well for where we needed to be. The place could use some minor fixing up and maybe some fresh exterior painting. We wrapped our work up there a day early but paid for the full 11 days. Wish there could have been a way to get reimbursed for thate last day that we didn't stay."
