"The breakfast was surprisingly decent (I was worried after reading a previous review). Veggie sausages were available upon request and there was the option to have breakfast in a to go bag if you don’t have time to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and there was ample parking. There was a train station nearby for people travelling on public transport and an added bonus of an ice machine in reception."

"Superb pub and rooms steeped in local history - Robert Plant started his career here playing blues guitar aged 15 in the upstairs blues club (sadly not there anymore but the history is palpable). The pub is a treasure trove of history, and so well preserved, from the original staircases and ceramic tiling on the walls, to the original bar. My room was just sheer excellence. "Only stayed for one night but will certainly be back, the hotel is an old coaching inn from the 1800’s and if you are looking for a bland, anonymous place it’s not for you, quiet, friendly, warm and comfortable with character and quirks, my room had a 10” thick mattress ( i’m sad, i measured it ) with very good quality bedding that gave me a superb night’s sleep and even a settee to lounge on while i watched the good sized tv, views out of my windows were of Lickey forest.
