Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo

10/10 Excellent

"The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The entire property was well maintained. We enjoyed the wonderful pool and loved that the resort was a few feet away from the ocean. Access to local dining was a plus with some restaurants on the beach! Most importantly the entire staff was amazingly friendly, professional and attentive especially Mallory, Carol and Priscilla. Would definitely recommend a visit and will be coming back!"

"The resort itself was pretty nice. Rooms were over all clean. The recent renovations were really nice— very modern and picturesque. Food options were decent— but the restaurants outside of the buffet have very limited hours and seating. There is beach access from the hotel with beautiful views, but there is no seating provided from the hotel. There are some things that could have been done better. For example, there was a bandaid and cocktail garnishes that were left on the pool bar/tables in the middle of the pool that were there for two days — makes you question how often they clean the pools. When the resort got busier, guests would leave their cups and trash on the stairwells or elevator. On that note— please be well aware (bc we weren’t), that this is a very heavily tik-tok advertised resort…. Our first two days there were nice, but as more people checked in, we realized there were a lot of tik-tok wannabe “influencers” at the resort… super loud, super obnoxious, and be ready to see tri-pods set up all over and twerking in the pool around your kids. I don’t even have kids and I was cringing hard. Therefore, this may not be the best choice if you’re trying to relax or bring your family, but if you want an aesthetic all-inclusive with decent food, and can ignore weirdo wannabe influencer behavior, it’s not too bad."

"If you have a rental car, this is the place to stay on your final day in CR: You can top off the tank just down the road, drop it off and walk across the street to the hotel. The Denny’s was ok, not much else around within walking distance. Shuttle runs every 15 minutes, 5 mins to the airport. Place is clean, breakfast is good."

"We traveled to CR in late May, 2026, with our two boys (age 14/11). The property is lovely - clear views of the volcano (aside from the mist covering). Lots of birds to spot, & the grounds are well maintained. We stayed in their smallest room - two queen beds. The room was nice but basic. There is a small fridge/coffee pot/kettle & they supply coffee/tea. There is a hair dryer as well. The room is very humid, even with AC, but that is not the fault of the hotel. You may find it tricky to dry any wet clothes :). The shower lacks both pressure & a lot of heat, but both are common in this region. The pool is nice & was a comfortable temperature. We enjoyed their happy hour from 4-6, & that included some free mocktails for our kids! The hot springs were really beautiful - likely given the time of year, but they were quiet & it was easy to find some privacy. We did eat in the main restaurant on our first night - the food was delicious, but a bit pricey for what it was (not uncommon in CR). The next night we did pizza at the pool - the pizza was delicious and much more reasonably priced. We were going to eat off property our last night to save a bit of money, but for some reason the front desk called us and let us know that we were entitled to a free meal - what a lovely treat! We still don't know why, but it was such a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend this property, especially those traveling with kids."
