"Stayed here a few nights after arriving from the US before moving on to other areas in the Lakes. Excellent location in the heart of Kendal convenient to restaurants and shops. Enjoyed a nice hike right from our door along the river and up to the castle."

"Lovely hotel and spa, staff were all fantastic, food was amazing, but there is no Aircon anywhere on site! Bedroom hit 30c with only a small desk fan provided, and the spa changing rooms were even worse. Impossible to shower clean or get dressed when you're dripping with sweat the moment you walk in the door.
I'd recommend avoiding summer months, stick to winter when heat won't be an issue. Would also help to avoid the tourists in Bowness/Windermere."
"Lovely clean rooms, nice white fluffy towels ,friendly staff, delicious food, love the dining area, beautiful white cloths ,delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff.great place for a couple of nights being pampered and unwinding."
"Very happy with the room and view over the river. The bar area was very nice to having the decking area where you could sit outside again by the river. Didn't have time for breakfast as we had an early start so cannot comment on that. Parking facilities were excellent."
"I have stayed here half a dozen times. Normally the with lads when we are out in the hills. Thought I’d fetch the wife as she’s never stayed. First few times a lot was very dated in mahogany very 80’s however it is getting an update & the last two times before this we got one of the very nicely refurbished rooms. Unfortunately this time we were outside in a secluded no. 70 room very dated so no doubt on the list for decorating but it was very poor light wise & the bathroom mirror light did not work. Quite a lot of cobwebs too which is a shame. Bed was comfy & for one night with all the facilities can’t really moan. Breakfast good as always too. I will fetch the wife again & hopefully get a newer refurbed rooms"
"Absolutely excellent value and location, staff were great. Only issue I had was not having a shower in the morning due to a boiler problem however I was reimbursed 25% for my stay and the boiler was also fixed quite quickly so not a major problem."
