"Loved it, felt like a real local. Washer was a plus and included detergent! Fast responses and overall a great stay :) 9.8/10 a little bit dusty specifically the top of air conditioner but hey, it’s an older place, it was expected and part of the vibe. Recommend if you want to stay in a more traditional place hence the name of the place. "

Rika was so nice and she even went out of her way to wait for our Uber to help direct it to Koraku-an on our last day. Over all, our experience with Koraku-an was wonderful and excellent."

"The room, bathroom, AND the shower are probably the biggest of all the hotels where we’ve stayed in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Did not feel cramped whatsoever. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk to the Arashiyama bamboo forest. The location is perfect if you plan to visit the surrounding areas there"

"very tranquil and beautiful surrounding areas. staff very accommodating-simple traditional hotels everything you need - very relaxing. quite far out from centre of kyoto but that is part of the charm and train/subway so efficient it wasn’t t an issue "
