"The best thing about this hotel is the location which is fantastic, and the staff were very nice. We stayed in the Oak Suite which is apparently the best room; it benefits from a private terrace with a pair of easy chairs to watch the river and it's occupancy go by, which is lovely. For me it definitely wasn't a four star, but a fair three star hotel. There was a temporary kitchen which also hampered them as well as the view. The room was clean and airy with a (strangely grubby!)Juliet balcony and a big bathroom. However the curtains and carpets were tired and didn't draw properly. The outside space and finishing touches for me needed a rethink. Coffee & tea making had to be done on my knees! A mini fridge would be really good and there's plenty of space for one. Unfortunately the breakfast was not of a good standard, plain and lukewarm on both mornings including the coffee; the bread and other ingredients were not good quality. Underwhelming, so much so we decided not to risk any other meals there. (Go to the Ye Old Ferrie Inn, it's was fantastic) With a cash injection for a bit of tarting up and a better budget for breakfast this place could easily do much better. Fingers crossed!"
