"Hotel was lovely as was the restaurant.!! Everything was clean and it offered a convenient pick up spot for various tours. Only problem I had was they placed me in a lower level room right next to construction. Luckily I was out of the room most of the day so it didn’t really bother me."

"The double beds are huge, they felt more like king size. We were only there overnight but check in was easy, the amenities were clean and there were so many separate bathrooms scattered throughout the building - never had to wait for one. The kitchen was large with plenty of space. Note that the hostel is further off the main road than we thought, the road is fairly well maintained inred but it is gravel for 6km or so to get there. Also pizza on site but not much other food around."

"Ich war im Mai 2026 für zwei Nächte im Hotel Von und habe mich dort sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in der Fußgängerzone. Ein Supermarkt ist direkt nebenan, Gastronomie direkt vor der Tür in großer Anzahl und Auswahl. Zum Hafen läuft man 15 Minuten, zum Busterminal BSI 20 Minuten. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, ging nach vorne zur Straße (belebte Fußgängerzone) raus, ist aber ausreichend schallisoliert, so dass ich mich nicht gestört gefühlt habe von Straßengeräuschen....

"It was a great location. Very central. 15-20 minute walk to bus station and right downtown. It was really helpful to have the luggage storage room - for no extra charge. Rooms were clean and the beds comfy. I was here a total of 5 nights both before and after a tour. Twice there was no t.p. In bathrooms, once the coffee machine wasn’t working, a couple of days the tea wasn’t replenished and there was never milk for the coffee. However that is minor and I would stay here again."

"I only have one recommendation for the hotel. In the lobby, change the ringtone at reception. It is the default tone that immediately breaks the vacation mentality and brings one back to the normal grind of every day life"

"Location was great! Definitely walkable to a convenience store and some local spots. The curtain rod on the bed was barely holding on - might be worth a quick upgrade to put rods that hold up. The place was clean...the fridges were def in need of a cleaning. That was def more than a week or two of old food and they were stuffed to a point where it just didn’t look right. Staff were super friendly. Would recommend and stay here again."

"The hotel experience was overall very nice. The staff was helpful, room clean and comfortable. The two issues that I would have liked would have been better lighting in the room. At night, it was dark even with all lights on. The black out drapes were great for sleeping. Also I prefer room service for breakfast on some mornings. The Kook menu was ok for on the run but if you want fresh coffee in your room, I didn't see ordering room service from there. The restaurant menu on the main floor was...

"Short bus ride to downtown Reykjavík. Buffet breakfast was very good. Front desk staff extremely helpful with navigating and providing information on local cuisine and things to do around town. No fitness room inside the hotel but just across the street is the largest gym in Reykjavik. Paid for a one week pass to use the facility. Would definitely stay again."

"I did not like having to pay “city tax” in addition to what we paid Expedia. The staff was not friendly. This may be due to how busy they were with multiple travel groups."
