"Because it is also a pub the welcome was a little underwhelming."

"We found it difficult to describe this as an Hotel. The Cafe only opens on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday and closes at 5pm. There is no Bar and no restaurant. The place needs a lot of TLC and maintenance. With regard to the accommodation we were allocated room 5 on the ground floor which is quite dark due to the proximity to the window of a vertical bank and wall above . As we intended spending most of the time out and about this was not a big issue. The main problem was evident the following morning...

"Very friendly and efficient checkin. Spacious clean room with very comfortable bed. No AC but fan provided in room due to warm weather. Very good cooked breakfast made to order, Excellent dinner in fine dining restraurant."

"Liked everything with one exception. We had booked a superior double room. Upon arrival we were told we were being upgraded. The room was dominated by a super king size bed. There were 4 large lamps and 2 overhead bedside lamps. However no chair and no fridge. I enquired and unfortunately they did not have a spare fridge. I expected a chair and fridge in a superior room."

"I was worried by the negative reviews of this hotel before arriving but circumstances dictated that we would stay here. In fact, the place was actually better than expected - not great but acceptable provided you only need the basics. Yes, the property is tired and in need of a face-lift; the carpets are well-worn, the beds are old, the bar/entertainment area hasn't been used in a long time and the bathroom was very basic. Your room isn't serviced during your stay other than to empty the bin...

"Nice location, our room was spacious and comfortable, however, sound proofing was terrible as we could hear TV sound from the next room. Also when they had an event, it was too loud to be able to sleep or do anything until midnight when it finished. Unfortunately it spoiled our trip."

"Very spacious and clean single room. Equipped with fridge and a fan which were both very welcome on the extremely warm conditions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing full refurbishment by dedicated owners. Extremely good value for money also."
