"A lovely hotel and spa. Nice swimming pool, sauna and gym. Good breakfast. Nice friendly staff. Excellent location. My only disappointment was the room was a bit tired and only 2 sockets which were on the opposite wall to the bed. Also the kettle had to sit on the floor because the cable wasn’t long enough to have on the table. Also would have been nice to have some decaf teabags. Small problems really but just observations."

"There was a mixup with the rooms when we checked in and they changed our rooms to something simple which was great. A very higgeldy piggeldy hotel layout but it worked out in the end. Breakfast was fine. But not enough staff on hand."

"Best spa set up I've ever been to. Head space and physical space yo 'breathe'. After long days out in Buxton and stoke on trent etc. It was beautiful to come back here. Breakfast was nothing special, same as any hotel. Why are all hashbrowns cold, deep fried triangles. Great location for park district or Manchester or other town visit. If you like to take bus/ land transit to do local areas DONT do it here. Local transit is very infrequent and we waited at stop and despite flashing...

"Room was clean full of feature like iron, ironing board, kettle and tea, sugar and sweetner. Air conditioning...super. Staff was very polite and helpfull and breakfast was excellent. Everything for every taste. Definitely worth every penny. Super"

"Lovely location for walking the Peak District. Also ideal as a stop over if heading further, especially if you have an electric car as they have a charger for a reasonable fee. Nice touch is the packed lunch included in the room rate every day."

"Bathroom needed updating there was mould and the floor was coming away. The building is old, the whole room shook when people were moving around upstairs."

"Awful. Had homeless on the entry steps. Police in reception dealing with something. Delapidated. And needs money to at least fix cracks in wall and paint it. Needs a good clean the stairs had years of dust on them. Looks like a hotel that the owners have just forgotten about."

"Will not be returning, staff not helpful at all, dog friendly but couldn’t even let the dog have a sausage at breakfast as they had ran out, they had also ran out of biscuits for the room, garden peas and orange juice. Not a cheap nights stay so these things should not be running out!! Best staff were the morning we were leaving, had they had been on all weekend it would have made it a more pleasant stay"
