"As it was my first trip to Tonga, I contacted the hotel in advance for the Airport Shuttle Service which was 100 TOP for a round trip. Despite the return trip being at 2am, the driver was punctual.The payment would be in cash and the host informed me that there was an ATM at the airport. "We came only because of a delay in our flight from Vavau to Tongatapu. But the short stay was so amazing. The hotel operators were very nice and kind, and helped accommodate our last-minute changes due to the flight uncertainty. We will come back again in future to watch the whales!"

"The staff, including the restaurant are excellent. I can't say enough of the warm hospitality that was offered me throughout my 2 week stay. The hotel is well situated to lively nightime food options, walking along the waterfront, and close to town. The hotel is a little tired, but it also had its charm. Do yourself a favour and book one of the rooms facing the water - evenings on the patio taking in the ambiance are well worth the few extra $$ (versus a room with no balcony). Will...

"We had an amazing 3 night stay at Mala resort. This family run accommodation is a great location within the Vava’u island group. The rooms are comfortable with spectacular views. With wifi in the common areas, it’s a great space to digitally detox while still being connected :) The hosts are so friendly and welcoming, happy to help with any request.
