"Excellent hotel. This was our second visit. Perfect location, just a short walk along the canal into the centre. Room clean, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast excellent and well organised. Only criticism would be a lack of air conditioning in the room, although a fan was in the room. Overall, an excellent short break."

"Fabulous one night stay at the Parkgate. The hotel is immaculate and our room which was upgraded was equally as fabulous. Location is amazing, close to everything Cardiff has to offer and whilst we were visiting from Cardiff, I’d recommend this to anyone travelling to the city! Spa facilities were incredible, small but well appointed and very relaxing with wonderful views out over the city and beyond. Best thing though were the staff. From the front desk, to restaurant staff, to the cleaners...

"Check in was very easy and quick. The room was nice and comfy, a little on the small side, but the view was good. The bar staff were very friendly and the young lady waiting on was very helpful, she even managed to find us a pack of cards to use. Breakfast was very good, it was nice to be served at the buffet and again, the staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, a really nice stay and we would certainly come again."

"I’m confused by the good reviews. This clearly would have been a lovely hotel in the past but appears to have no investment for decades. The room I was large but had the same musty smell that pervades the whole hotel. Old carpet, missing secondary glazing panel meaning no noise insulation from busy road and nothing like the pictures on Expedia which show fairly modern rooms, It’s in a fantastic location near the centre and deserves much better care than the current owners are giving it. "Already knew and liked the Park Plaza brand. Cardiff’s Park Plaza exceeded our expectations. Staff all excellent, room comfortable. Grabbed a quick pre-theatre meal and wow - it was superb in eveyway (taste, presentation and value for money). A La Carte looked good too and we took a desert from there. Big shout out to George who led his team well - especially as a couple were on there first shifts…"

"Room was clean and staff were helpful, had a family room with 2 double beds. But with having children and in a family room I would expect a child lock on the window. Also they was a screw sticking out through the wood of the room door frame latch plate.. apart from that the hotel was clean and staff were helpful."

"The hotel is in a very convenient location, within easy walking distance of the pier, tram, and beach. Limited parking is also available, which is a useful bonus. The staff were very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was acceptable, although the selection was quite limited and the dining area felt small. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and condition of the hotel were disappointing. There was visible mould in areas beyond just the bathroom, and the bathroom itself did not feel...
