"We liked that the motel is near the town centre so getting our daily supplies was easy and is also nearer to Lake Matheson. The motel is a little dated which is understandable based on the value we got from the stay. There were 2 guard dogs (one black and one brown) that roam around the motel. The doggos were adorable and well-trained. Some visitors may not be comfortable with the dogs but we were fine with their company."

"This motel is located at a very central location in town. Walkable to everywhere also because Franz Josef is also very small. I had the most comfortable stay in this motel as compared to all the other accommodations i had stayed in in NZ. The bedroom was warm with 2 heaters and the bed was so comfortable. They require guests to wash up and return cuterly etc to their place which I find very reasonable."

"Great room, very comfy bed and fabulous were great. Situated within walking distance on town and restaurants. An easy distance to franz joseph walk/ viewing platform and directly behind hotel are some walks and tunnels. Would highly recommend for anyone a very comfortable stay. Also highly recommend the restaurant next door, Alice May, great food"
